Mary Beth Johnson, CEO
Mary Beth Johnson was born and raised in Clay County. She grew up learning how to serve others through her involvement in 4-H and community service. After completing college, she began her work as respiratory therapist which eventually led her to home care. While working in home care as an RT, she transitioned over to the non-medical side of home care and loved it. When Mary Beth decided to open her own home health agency, she wanted it to be in the heart of where she grew up. As the President of the company, she oversees the daily operations of the business, manages the office team, helps develop marketing plans, builds key relationships with community leaders in and out of health care, and monitors all regulations and changes in the industry.
Charles Raulerson, CFO

Charles Raulerson was born in Callahan and raised in the Jacksonville area. After completion of high school, he started his college years off at Clemson University playing on the golf team. He transitioned to LSU where he continued to play on the golf team and later graduated with his Bachelor's Degree. He played golf professionally on the European Tour and the PGA tour. After leaving the tour, he tapped into his business talents by accepting a General Manager position at a Country Club where he was directly responsible for the daily operations of the golf course, tennis courts, special events, and food and beverage services. He now owns a golf course located in Fleming Island and acts as the CFO of By Your Side. He works closely with the President to monitor financials and sales projections.
Doug Myers, President
Doug Myers was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, where his passion for caregiving began early in life. As a teenager, he helped care for his grandmother after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s—a formative experience that inspired his path into the medical field. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Florida State University and has since devoted over 20 years to the healthcare industry.
Doug has spent his career supporting seniors and their families, helping them navigate the challenges of aging with dignity, safety, and compassion. As President of By Your Side Seniors Care, he leads daily operations, manages the office team, fosters relationships with healthcare and community partners, and ensures compliance with all industry regulations and standards. He is deeply committed to providing high-quality, personalized care that truly makes a difference.
Outside of work, Doug enjoys spending time with his family, coaching baseball, and being outdoors.
Keith White, VP of Client Services
Keith White was born and raised in Jacksonville and after thirteen years of Catholic schooling he graduated from the University of Central Florida. He started working in the healthcare field as a marketing/sales rep for skilled nursing facilities, then transitioned to durable medical equipment for over twelve years and has been in home care ever since. With more than twenty-five years of experience in healthcare, including more than ten years in home care, he has good knowledge of the industry dynamics. He enjoys helping guide seniors and their families through the often-difficult health care maze. He is directly responsible for marketing and networking, as well as building relationships with other medical and non-medical care providers. His teamwork is apparent and was honed growing up playing team sports. After playing football and soccer in high school, he played rugby at UCF and continued after graduation with the Jax Rugby Club.
Jessica May, HR Director

Jessica was raised in Fleming Island. Her family owned a successful business that she learned from and assisted with from a young age into adulthood. After high school, she studied at Saint Johns River State College, working towards her business degree, majoring in marketing. After being relocated due to the military, she was accepted into Old Dominion University in Virginia. She later moved back to Florida to be able to take care of her mother after her dad passed away suddenly in 2015. Since then, she has always looked for a way to give back to her community by honoring her father. When she is not at the office, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family. She has three boys whom she adores and loves being creative.
Dane Higgins, Staff Coordinator
Dane is a Jacksonville native, and lifelong resident. He attended Orange Park High School where he played football. He also played baseball at Trinity Christian Academy when younger. He is a lifelong motorcycle rider, especially dual sport and dirt bikes. He spent the last 20 years of his life working in the motorcycle industry sharing his passion with others while providing top notch customer service. He loves the Jaguars and is the father of 2 boys. Dane joined the By Your Side Senior Care team to assist with the staffing needs of our clients in the Clay and Duval area. He is responsible for scheduling caregivers and assisting clients with their care needs. He enjoys his time off fishing, vacationing in the Keys, and chasing his beloved flounder.
Penny Graham, Staffing Director
Penny is a South Carolina native, and began her journey in the home health care industry as a CNA. During her time working as a caregiver, Penny lost her father to brain cancer leaving her with a desire to assist other adult children who find themselves navigating their way through a new family journey. Her hands-on experience as a caregiver provided her the experience and knowledge to help choose the right caregivers for other families. Penny has more than 20 years of experience in home health care where she has assisted with HR duties as well as Client Relations. She is currently the Staff Coordinator at By Your Side Senior Care and assists with the daily, weekly and monthly scheduling of clients and caregivers. She is responsible for communication between caregivers, clients, and their families to establish the best care possible for all clients. In her spare time, Penny and her husband of 20 years enjoy spending as much time as possible with their 6 grandchildren.
Donna Rigel, Office Coordinator
Donna was born in Covington, Kentucky, and spent much of her early childhood moving from place to place before making South Florida her home following high school. Her life’s work has always centered around caring for others, especially the elderly. Growing up, her entire family was deeply committed to serving nursing home residents, sharing meals during the holidays, and visiting those who had no family nearby. Those experiences helped shape Donna’s calling in a profound way.
In 2004, Donna moved to Jacksonville and officially began her journey in healthcare at Penney Retirement Community as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Driven to grow, she advanced to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and went on to serve for 18 years at River Garden Hebrew Home as a Rehab and Memory Care Nurse. Throughout her career, she provided compassionate, respectful care to those who need it most.
After the challenges of COVID, she discovered a new passion for in-home care. Her focus shifted to helping families ensure their loved ones can age with dignity and comfort, wherever they call home. At By Your Side Senior Care, Donna serves the St. Johns County area as our Office Coordinator in the Ponte Vedra/Nocatee location. She plays a key role in recruitment, hiring, scheduling, and training.
Outside of work, she enjoys antique shopping, walking the charming streets of St. Augustine, and spending as much time as possible with her four grandbabies.
Melissa Saling, RN
Melissa Saling is a true Florida native and was born and raised in Jacksonville and the surrounding areas. After graduating from Middleburg High School, she attended the University of Florida where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Psychology. Being a military spouse, her “home has been where the Navy sent them,” and has allowed her to work in a variety of settings including, Kidney/liver Transplant, Vascular, and Med/Surg. After relocating to Fleming Island upon her husband’s retirement from the Navy, she found her love of home care as a Field Nurse for a Skilled Home Health agency. She currently conducts orientation and training for all new caregivers and home health aides for By Your Side Senior Care. She enjoys spending time with her family, cheering for the Gators, watching her daughter at various sporting events, and looking for sharks teeth.
Katie Connors, RN
Katie Connors
is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, holding bachelor’s degrees in both Biology and Nursing. She began her nursing career in Seattle, WA, working at a level 1 trauma center with experience in ICU and procedural care. After relocating to Amelia Island, Katie shifted to home health nursing, allowing her the flexibility to balance her career and raise her three children. An active member of the community for over 11 years, Katie is always involved and passionate about making a difference. At By Your Side Senior Care, Katie is responsible for training all new caregivers, meeting with clients, and conducting supervisory visits when needed to ensure the highest quality of care. When she's not working, she’s chauffeuring her kids to their busy activities, enjoying a good book, or unwinding at the beach.
